GWEN PERRY, vocalist, interpreter and international show woman has been dubbed as “THE LADY OF SONG AND OF MUSIC”. Once you have assisted one of her performances you will understand why, as her repertory ranges from jazz to swing to rhythm and blues or a beautiful romantic ballad. It is said that her vocal and interpretive qualities are “incomparable, personal and vibrant to the point that her public wishes to involve themselves in her performance”.
Gwen, a native North Carolinian calls home Washington, D.C., where she had her beginnings as a jazz singer, while pursuing her career as a Housing Specialist in the Mobile Homes Section at the Department of Housing and Urban Development. She arrived in Palma de Mallorca in the late 70’s, using the then famous night club TITOS as a trampoline for her European debut.
She performs in grand gala in conferences or fairs, as well as at weddings or festive celebrations. From time to time she also organizes charity concerts in theaters in the Maresme region where she resides. GWEN has lived in Italy, Egypt and Spain, while performing in every continent except Asia, sharing her talents with the audiences of various multinational companies, such as American Express, Seagram’s-Italy, Phillips, CITICORP or Costa Cruises. She has also collaborated with Ngos such as UNICEF and AMNESTY INTERNATIONAL. Between 1998 and 2000 Gwen was sponsored in concert by the American Embassies in Cairo, Egypt; Kuwait city and in Qatar in 2001. We can listen to her every first and third Thursday on radio Mataro 89.3 fm, in the last 30 minute segment of a program entitled “LIVING LIFE DAILY” (VIU LA VIDA DIA A DIA), where she matches music with such topics as solidarity, peace, emotions, medicine, therapy or other topics of the moment.
GWEN sings in her native English, Spanish, Italian, French, Franco-Arabic, German and Portuguese as well as Greek, with a musical formation of either a quartet or a quintet.
